    Your data

    Track your own brand

The report above is built from public signals, free for anyone. Bring your first-party data, analytics, sales, and CRM, and we run a custom, continuously tracked Share of Voice: impact-weighted, tied to demand and revenue, with the licensed signals the public view holds back.

    Turn gaps into a plan

Where the report shows you losing the answer, that is a communications problem. 35Peaks turns the gaps into a messaging plan: the narrative, the earned and professional positioning, and the work that moves these signals.

    Methodology

Every number in this report is a live, directional signal measured from public data. Here is exactly how each is sourced and calculated, so you can judge it for yourself. Where a factor is a best effort or a proxy, we say so.

    Total Share of Voice

The simple average of your percentage share across every factor we could measure live for your set. Each factor is a share — your value divided by the whole set's total — so the composite treats every measured factor equally rather than guessing weights. Impact-weighting each factor by its causal effect on demand is part of the paid, first-party layer.

    Your competitive set

Generated by Claude from your brand and category, then measured as entered. It is meant to be a credible peer set, not exhaustive; you can add or remove competitors and the report re-measures.

    AI answers

We ask three answer engines — Anthropic Claude, Perplexity, and Google Gemini with Google Search grounding (the engine behind Google's AI Overviews) — the real questions buyers ask in your category. In each response we detect which brands are named, using whole-word matching, and in what order. Your share is your mentions divided by all brand mentions across every response. Because AI answers vary run to run, we probe several prompts across all three engines and cache the result. We also log the outside domains the engines cite, shown as “Where AI looks.”

    Search interest

Branded search demand from Ahrefs: the monthly US search volume for each brand name. Your share is your volume divided by the set's total. It measures how often buyers already look for you by name.

    Category discoverability

From Ahrefs, the non-branded, ingredient- and problem-led terms each brand ranks in the top 10 organic results for (for example “niacinamide serum” or “moisturizer for eczema”), with brand-name terms excluded. We sum the monthly search volume of those terms per brand. Your share reflects how much of the category's unbranded search demand you actually capture.

    Retail & purchase intent

A digital-shelf proxy from Ahrefs: the monthly search volume for each brand's retail and review queries — “brand reviews,” “brand at Sephora / Ulta / Amazon,” and “buy brand.” It captures where buyers go to consider and purchase, without depending on any single retailer's private review counts. Licensed retailer review and rating feeds are a paid upgrade.

    Owned & organic search

Ahrefs' estimate of each brand's total monthly organic search traffic to its own domain. Your share is your traffic divided by the set's total — a measure of the audience you own rather than rent.

    Earned news

Recent article counts from the GDELT global news index over a rolling three-month window. This is best effort: GDELT rate-limits and is noisy, so we only show the factor when we can measure the full set, and we exclude it from the composite otherwise.

    Creator voice

From the YouTube Data API, each brand's most-viewed videos from the past twelve months. We weight by view count, so a brand featured in a few high-view videos outranks one scattered across many ignored clips. Your share is your video views divided by the set's total. Click through to the actual videos behind your number.

    Audience sentiment

For your brand, we read the top comments on your leading creator videos and have Claude classify overall sentiment toward you — positive, neutral, or negative — and surface the specific praise and criticism. It is an honest read of a live sample of comments, not a census, and it covers your brand rather than every competitor.

    Community & conversation

When enabled, the share of brand mentions across the major beauty communities on Reddit over the past year, with the same sentiment read applied to the threads. This factor is only shown when the community source is connected.

    Ingredient ownership

We cross-reference each brand's organic search rankings against a list of key actives (retinol, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid, ceramides, peptides and more). The brand ranking highest for an ingredient owns that conversation in search. This is search ownership, not a clinical or efficacy claim.

    The scorecard

Your grade reflects your Total Share of Voice relative to the set leader and your overall rank. “Biggest gaps” are the factors where you trail that factor's leader by the most, and the recommended moves are the standard levers that shift each factor. It is a prioritization aid, not a guarantee.

    Freshness, caching and honesty

Signals are measured live and cached per competitive set for up to seven days to keep this report free and fast; the public-company and trend data refresh nightly. Everything here is a directional market signal from public sources, not an audited fact. The deeper, impact-weighted view — your first-party analytics and sales, licensed social listening, retailer review feeds, and continuous tracking — is the paid report we build on top.
